Kevin McElroy- Luthier

After working in the shop of Jonathan Cooper, Kevin began his own repair and sales business seeing a growing need for fine instruments and quality repair and restoration. Kevin continued to study repair and restoration. First at The University of New Hampshire's summer school program with master restorer Hans Nebel, then he followed Mr. Nebel to The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams. He has traveled to violin auctions throughout the U.S. and has expanded his knowledge of violins by frequently attending the London instrument sales. Kevin is a player of traditional music on the violin and lives in Freeport with his wife and daughter.

Justin W. Boone- Luthier

Justin Boone came to the Frost Gully Violin Shop in 2002.   Justin, a graduate of Florida State University, has been making violins for 9 years. Justin studied violin making in Pennsylvania and worked in Cremona, Italy for Giorgio Grisales and Edgar Russ. He has worked in repair and restoration for 7 years and came to Maine from the shop of Roland Huthmaker in Duluth Georgia. He just completed a restoration course with Hans Nebel. Justin plays and teaches classical cello and lives in Bath.

Sue Bristol- Office Manager

Sue joined Frost Gully Violins in 2003 and promptly whipped us all into shape. She keeps things running smoothly in the shop, has our rental program running like a fine swiss watch, and adds a much needed feminine touch to the shop. She has nearly gotten over her fear of handeling the more expensive instruments and can sooth any ruffled feathers that we encounter. Go Sue!
